Rogue Earth is a survival and city-building game with strategic gameplay, directly inspired by the Youtube video of the famous Youtuber Kurzgesagt - "What If Earth got Kicked Out of the Solar System?" (What would happen if Earth were to be kicked out of the Solar System?).
Both the video and game elaborate on this concept and much of what will happen to the world. It will be an unstoppable world-wide apocalypse, where humans have a very small chance to save themselves, even armed with technology that destroys the world. Decades away from our contemporary advances.

From there, Rogue Earth offers a different perspective on a near future where mankind strives force to have in the tunnels deep underground. To complicate things further, the game is set after the fall of our current civilization.
You will take care of a small group of people called the Initiative. The Initiative believes that the predictions of the coming star and its effect on Earth are correct, and they have devoted themselves to preparing for this event with little time left. You have to face a lot of obstacles, decisions and sacrifices to succeed. Fortunately, you will be supported by one of the most influential factions available in this bleak future world, and will have a clear goal ahead of you.

Although your beginnings will be humble and slow, your efforts and progress will likely lead to a bustling city and a project of unprecedented magnitude in the long run.
