UltraSurf installation and usage instructions

1. Download and install:

UltraSurf does not need to be installed, you can start the program very simply by double-clicking the file u1405.exe to run.

Users can save UltraSurf to a flash drive or access it from their own email. This program can be used on any computer and will leave no trace when deleted.

You can change the filename to avoid the curiosity of other users without any difficulty.

2. Launch UltraSurf:

After double-clicking on the executable, UltraSurf will open an interface window that includes function keys and operation status.

If UltraSurf prompts for proxy settings, please refer to step 8 for proxy configuration. If UltraSurf does not open the home window, please refer to step 7 for advanced settings.

The folder containing the UltraSurf temporary file - utmp - and the system file u.ini will be located in the same location as the executable .exe.< /p>

3. Connection server and connection performance:

UltraSurf's interface displays the connection status and operating status of the Server. On startup, UltraSurf automatically searches and selects the server with the highest speed available. The check box and green shows the server currently in use. You can select a different server by selecting another check box if the current server is not working properly.

Connection speed is an indicator of server performance: 100% is the top speed and is equivalent to a direct connection.

4. Using UltraSurf:

By using a browser (be it Internet Explorer or Chrome), UltraSurf allows users to browse any web page.

Note: You can minimize the interface window when using UltraSurf, you cannot close the window because this will exit the program.

5. Exit UltraSurf:

You press the Exit button on the main UltraSurf interface or click the close button on the window to exit the program.

After closing the program, your browser will not be protected by UltraSurf. For your safety, during the 20 second countdown, an Exit Warning will appear with the following options:

  • Close IE and exit (Close IE and exit): This option allows you to close all open IE windows and tabs when you exit UltraSurf .
  • Keep IE and Exit (Keep IE and Exit): If you have a special need to keep the IE browser window even after exiting UltraSurf, you can choose this option. However, it will not guarantee data security when UltraSurf is closed when the IE window is opening sensitive websites.

6. Function keys on UltraSurf interface:

The main interface of UltraSurf is very simple, including only a few key function keys:

  • Home: Reopen the homepage
  • Retry: Search for another server
  • Option: Access to advanced settings (refer to step 7 for details)

7. Advanced settings:

The default settings of UltraSurf are designed to protect the safety of users. If users have special needs that need to change these default settings, such as specifying how they want to clear browsing history, delete cookies or use proxies, they can go to the Options to customize.

  • Enable HotKeys: When this option is selected, HotKeys will be enabled. You can disable this feature if you don't want to use keyboard shortcuts because it conflicts with the shortcuts of other programs.
  • Hide Windows: When this option is unchecked, UltraSurf will run in the background. If you want to see the program's interface again, press Ctrl Alt S.

  • Delete cookies automatically upon exiting: With this option, UltraSurf will automatically delete cookies when exiting the program (this is the default setting). If you do not want cookies to be deleted when the program is closed, uncheck this option.
  • Delete history automatically upon exiting: This option will automatically delete browser history when UltraSurf is closed.
  • Close IE immediately upon exiting: If you select this option, UltraSurf will close all IE windows and websites as soon as the program ends. If you don't select this option, you may get a warning window choosing whether to close or keep the IE window.
  • Do not close IE upon exiting: Contrary to the above option, this option will keep all IE windows even if you close the program.
  • Hide Golden Lock (requires UltraSurf to be restarted in order to take effect): By default, a yellow lock icon will appear in the lower right corner of the screen to indicate that you are protected with UltraSurf. You can hide this icon by selecting this option, it will take effect the next time you launch UltraSurf.
  • Proxy setting button: Enter the Proxy settings window (refer to step 8 for details).
  • Delete Cookie button: deletes all cookies immediately.
  • Delete History button: deletes all browser history instantly.
  • Local Listening Port (26-65535): you can set listening port from 26 to 65535, default is 9666.
  • Button Reset to Default Settings: restore all settings to default values, a popup will appear and you press Yes to confirm agree, No to decline. Click OK for the setting to take effect and Cancel if you want to cancel.

 

8. Instructions for setting up proxy:

Usually users do not need to enter proxy settings. By default, UltraSurf will choose proxy settings based on IE's proxy settings. In some cases, users may need to use a separate proxy to access the Internet.

Here are the instructions for setting up the proxy:

  • Auto-Detect Proxy: This option allows UltraSurf to automatically detect IE's proxy settings.
  • Manual Proxy Setting: This option allows you to set up your own proxy settings.
    • Directly use UltraSurf: By default, UltraSurf selects this option. It has high encryption to ensure the safety of users.
