Synthesia 10.6 is a free entertainment application that helps you play the piano on a MIDI keyboard. If your computer will be connected to the MIDI keyboard via a MIDI cable or USB, you can use Synthesia.

Synthesia is a very lightweight program that only requires a 1GHz processor and 20MB RAM to run. Your computer should also have a graphics processor with 3D hardware acceleration.

When you install the program, make sure that Update DirectX, Sample music, Start menu shortcuts and Desktop icon are selected. Select Right-click .mid file associations if you need Synthesia to appear in the Context menu on right click.
New versions of Synthesia have a configuration tool that helps you set up your video settings. To set these options, click Start, All Programs and select Synthesia, and then press Synthesia Configuration. Click Video Settings and Windowed Mode.
If your computer has problems with DirectX, you will be able to choose OpenGL instead. Under Video Settings, you will be able to select the button next to it. next to Full-screen using specific video mode to change Synthesia to a lower resolution. If you plan to use other applications while using Synthesia, select Run in a window, select the resolution in the box or select Maximized if you need the window to open to the maximum. Then press Ok.
Before you start using Synthesia to learn piano, you need to set up your MIDI keyboard. Connect a MIDI keyboard to your machine, and then turn it on. Start Synthesia then select Keyboard Setup. There are 2 options Input Devices and Output Devices , choose your MIDI keyboard from the list. If your keyboard does not appear in the list, close Synthesia. Go back to the keyboard again and restart Synthesia, and your keyboard will appear in the settings window.
Click Go Back to return to the main menu, then press Choose a song.If you are new to the piano, choose a song with 1 rating 0.0 First Pieces. If you already know how to play, you will be able to choose a piano piece with a higher difficulty level. Click Continue.
In the free software version, most MIDI songs allow only 2 practice modes: Practice Song Rhythm and Online Song Recital .Function Practice Song Melody will wait for you to press the correct key before continuing the track, and it will only be unlocked for you first when you buy it.
However, here is Synthesia's Learning Pack Demo it will help you to try this function on 6 different tracks. Besides there are many ways to configure Practice Song Rhythm function. to make music easier to learn.
Select Practice Song Rhythm, then right-click the track and select Played by You. You'll also be able to change MIDI instruments, if you need to. Click Continue, and speed the songs down to 1 speed you should be able to play.
When you are just starting to use Synthesia, it is best to reduce the speed by about 30% to 40%. In the toolbar at the bottom of the window, you will also be able to change the keyboard zoom mode. . next, go back or forward to bookmarks in the track.
Let your computer monitor have a comfortable viewing distance and viewing angle from your MIDI keyboard. Press the spacebar on your PC or press any key on your keyboard to start playing the track.
Play the blue notes with your left hand and the green notes with your right hand. Match the notes on the screen and you're done. When you finish playing the game. 1 track, Synthesia will show you a screen showing the score you played.
In the Learning Pack Demo you will be able to try out functions not available in the free version of Synthesia. Select a track and select Played by You above all. 2 green and blue bars. You will also be able to select Sheet Music, which is another function Learning Pack.
