Empty Standby List is a line of code from the developer of Process Hacker. This software offers quite a few different ways to free up RAM.
When using the command line EmptyStandbyList.exe workingsets, this codestream tool will ask Windows OS and applications to reduce memory usage by users and system processes . This is a useful function, but it can hurt performance because processes immediately and immediately exchange data from the page file.
The EmptyStandbyList.exe modifiedpagelist command will trash edited pages, save unsaved data to disk and free up RAM. This process requires a lot of disk activity.
