Climate change was the catalyst for a series of events that led to the destruction of our world ; Rising sea levels have flooded the coasts. Only you can help humanity survive by leading the group of survivors on the path of survival. Starting with a group of missing survivors, you must search for resources, explore technology, and maintain peace between disparate factions as you attempt to rebuild society.
The world we've always lived in is gone, replaced by islands, swamps, and isolated groups of survivors. Looking for scarce resources, you must explore the world - island by island to help those you can and deal with those who don't share your vision for the future.
There's more to a city than just people. Food, shelter, water, health, security - the list is long and varied. Technology is studied according to the Branched Technology Diagram, buildings are upgraded and specialists need to be trained. You need to make sure all of these needs are met; this work will be more difficult with limited resources, space and labor.
A society is good only when it has the law - it's all up to you. Will you usher in a new era of utopian equality or is your future a dictatorship? Not every group shares your vision, and the choices you make can have a profound impact on your future. A common goal is to make society more effective, you need to define and choose the development according to the rules.
Each playthrough is different - the map, events, and world composition are randomly generated, allowing each play of Floodland Steam to offer a unique experience.
